In this moving patient story, we speak with Gerri, a Crohn’s patient, about her journey from debilitating digestive symptoms to complete remission. Gerri shares what it was like to live in New York City while navigating relentless urgency, severe abdominal pain she describes as “hot lava,” and the constant need to locate the nearest restroom. After months of worsening symptoms and a turning point moment with her mom, she sought specialist care, leading to bloodwork, testing, colonoscopy and, ultimately, a diagnosis….
Urgency, frequent bathroom trips and unexpected leaks can disrupt daily life, but they’re more treatable than many people realize. Dr. Travis Bullock joins Life Without Leaks to answer questions from his recent webinar, explain the difference between overactive bladder and other forms of incontinence, and discuss new therapies like neuromodulation that can help restore bladder control and quality of life. For more information about the National Association for Continence, click here, and be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest….
In this episode, Dr. Eric Rovner addresses a common fear that men have about prostate cancer treatment: incontinence. Drawing on his clinical experience, Dr. Rovner explains that treatment does not automatically mean a lifetime of bladder leakage. Our conversation offers clarity, reassurance and actionable guidance for men navigating prostate cancer care. …

ROBIN STERNE

Robin and Steve may have actually crossed paths back at the Montreal Olympics – while he was in the water, she was working as part of the ABC film crew covering the event. Since then, she’s moved from Montreal to South Florida (though she still misses the bagels), and she’s dedicated her career to marketing, advertising and graphic design for some of the largest and most well known companies in America. In fact, she was responsible for designing Blockbuster Video’s very first website back in 1997!

An inveterate traveler, Bruce has been extorted by border guards in Moldova, thrown off a dog sled in the Arctic Circle, and snapped at by an unhappy sea lion in the Galapagos, among other adventures.

WHAT OUR LISTENERS HAVE TO SAY

“Finally learning about my condition on my way to work and figuring out solutions I would have never thought of …it’s like having that talk with a friend I wanted to have, but have been way to embarrassed to bring up! “

– Holly K.

“It’s great to hear patient stories in their own words – makes me feel like I’m not so alone when trying to deal with my bladder issues. Looking forward to more episodes!”

– Angela B.

“Instant subscribe! It’s hard finding good, reliable information about incontinence. Nobody ever seems to want to speak about it unless they’re talking in medical terms. I like that it’s easy to listen to but has useful info.”

– Chris F.

Male Stress Urinary Incontinence After Prostate Treatment: Why Early Action Matters

Male stress urinary incontinence is one of the most common challenges men face after prostate surgery or radiation. While the primary focus is understandably on treating cancer, many men find that bladder leakage becomes the most persistent issue during recovery.
After cancer control, regaining bladder control is often the next priority. Until continence improves, it can be difficult to return to normal daily activities, and many men focus on this before addressing other aspects of recovery, including sexual function.
