Dr. Jennifer Miles-Thomas is a highly accomplished Urologist, business leader, and advocate for excellence in healthcare. With a diverse background spanning medicine, business administration, and leadership roles within prestigious organizations, Dr. Miles-Thomas has established herself as a respected figure in the field of Urology.
Dr. Miles-Thomas obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, followed by post-doctoral training at The James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. During her fellowship, she specialized in Female Urology, further enhancing their expertise in this important area of Urological care. Driven by a passion for continuous learning and professional growth, Dr. Miles-Thomas pursued a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on Business Analytics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). This unique combination of medical and business knowledge equips her with a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare industry, allowing for innovative and strategic decision-making.
Dr. Miles-Thomas’s contributions to the Urological community extend beyond her clinical practice. She has held numerous leadership and board appointments, including her current role as President and CEO of Urology of Virginia. In this capacity, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, guiding the organization towards growth, quality improvement, and patient-centered care. Recognized for her expertise and commitment to advancing Urological research, Dr. Miles-Thomas serves as a board member of the Schellhammer Urologic Research Foundation. Her contributions to these organizations play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Urology and ensuring that the latest
advancements and best practices are implemented.
Additionally, Dr. Miles-Thomas is also actively involved in several influential national committees and advisory groups. She serves as a reviewer for the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), contributing her expertise to the evaluation and selection of impactful research projects. She is a board member of Urology Unbound and has participated in the AUA Business of Medicine Task Force, where she has leveraged their financial acumen to shape policies and practices within the field.
Dr. Miles-Thomas’s dedication to professional organizations is evident through her involvement in the Mid-Atlantic AUA, where she served on the Board of Directors and as the Co-Chair of the Program Committee.
